The thematic forum focusing on high quality global expansion for GBA enterprises has been successfully held on June 11, 2026 in Hong Kong.

Hosted by the GBA Women Directors Association (“GBA WDA”), the event echoes the national strategy of the 15th Five Year Plan to expand high standard opening up and drive orderly cross border deployment of industrial and supply chains. Delivered in hybrid on site and online format, the forum gathered government representatives, professional service experts, listed corporate leaders and international legal practitioners to foster high level dialogue and experience sharing for businesses venturing overseas.

Against accelerating global market integration, going global has become critical for enterprises to unlock new growth momentum. Yet geopolitical risks, stringent cross border compliance and cross cultural management remain major hurdles.

The forum commenced with opening remarks delivered by Ms. Elizabeth Law, Chairperson of GBA WDA, and Ms. Maggie Lee, Deputy Head of GBA Strategy and Development Officeof KPMG. The forum consisted of keynote speeches and an expert panel discussion. Ms. Loretta Lee, Associate Director General of Invest Hong Kong, and Mr. Stanley Ho, Partner of KPMG China, delivered keynote insights on policy dividends under the 15th Five Year Plan, latest global market landscape, cross border compliance frameworks and internationalization roadmaps for local enterprises.

The in-depth industry panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Kelly Chan, Vice-Chairperson of GBA WDA. The panel featured Ms. Carol Cheng from China Merchants Port Holdings, Ms. Sherlyn Lau from DLA Piper and Mr. Charles Yeung from GCL Technology Holdings. Drawing on real world experience in port operation, cross border capital markets and tech globalization, the panel shared practical solutions on supply chain restructuring, overseas risk mitigation and multinational governance, followed by interactive Q&A with the audience.

A dedicated networking session after the forum enabled participants to connect and explore potential business collaboration.

The forum has successfully built an effective communication bridge between policymakers, professional service providers and real economy enterprises. Moving forward, GBA WDA will continue to organize industry events to support organizations seizing global opportunities, mitigating international risks and integrating deeper into global industrial, supply and value chains.
