Overview
In February 2025, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) issued the third edition of the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard (IFRS for SMEs), tailored to the financial reporting needs of small and medium-sized entities without public accountability.
Following this, in April 2025, the HKICPA’s Financial Reporting Standards Committee approved the revised HKFRS for Private Entities Accounting Standard (HKFRS for PEs), aligned with this third edition. The revised standard is effective for accounting periods beginning on or after January 1, 2027.
