The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“HKICPA”) is proposing changes to Statement 1.500 Continuing Professional Development (Statement 1.500) to prescribe Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for all HKICPA members, Responsible Persons (RPs) of registered Public Interest Entity (PIE) auditors and Practising Certificate holders (PC Holders). The HKICPA invites members’ comments on the proposed changes and the survey is open up to 14 October 2025. This seminar will cover the key proposed changes and the key requirements to note in Statement 1.500.

Mr. Charbon Lo is the Deputy Managing Partner of Beijing Xinghua Caplegend CPA Limited (“Beijing XingHua”). Prior to joining Beijing Xinghua, he was an Audit Partner at another international accounting firm. With over 18 years of experience in auditing, he specializes in handling audits for listing audits for the Main Board and GEM of Hong Kong , as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. He has provided audit services to clients with business operations in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Brazil, and Russia, covering a wide range of industries including real estate, catering, biopharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food manufacturing, sustainable forest management, gaming, and entertainment, among others. Additionally, Mr. Lo has also undertaken assignments related to IPO and due diligence.
